Our Story – Why did we create Langoid?

Langoid was created by a group of language lovers who are always experimenting with different ways to learn languages. They have tried and tested various language learning apps and tools and have combined their knowledge to create a platform that is designed for real language learners. From this experience we realized that even though there are so many tools available out there, we still encountered many obstacles.

We realized that many language learning tools require users to know English first before they can start learning another language. And many language learning apps claim to be free but actually contain ads, which can be very annoying and disrupt the learning process. On top of that, we found that progress was slow, and we needed to combine different apps and tools to have a comprehensive learning experience.

We came up with the idea to create an ad-free language learning platform that is universally accessible to everyone, with no interruptions to the learning process. Our aim is to provide a place where anyone can learn any language they desire without any barriers or limitations, including the need to have a good understanding of English. This means that users can learn Chinese from Russian, Serbian from Tagalog, and other languages of their choice.

Have you ever watched movies like The Mummy, where characters need to translate a long lost language, and only a handful of professors in the world can read and understand it? At Langoid, we are developing tools that will enable users like you to add the languages you know to our platform, helping to preserve languages and prevent them from becoming extinct. Together, we can solve this problem and make language learning accessible to all.

Our teaching approach

Langoid develops a specific method for a maximum learning experience, a faster and more meaningful progress for our users. In here, you will only work harder for words you are struggling with. We will divide each word based on your familiarity level with them, we will expose you more to the least familiar words, or you can choose which words you want to work with for today.

We also understand that the most annoying part of learning a language is to master the grammar structure. But do you remember learning the grammar of your mother tongue language? Doesn't it just feel natural when you first learn your language when you were a child? That is called implicit learning. Here we try to use that method, showing many examples of sentences’ structures, until you finally remember how to build those sentences naturally.

But of course for you who like to get some tips or patterns or learn grammar in a more explicit way, we also have a forum for that. In the forum, you can find many articles and discussions about many things, including tips and tricks to learn grammar in any language. This forum and chat are our global online community. Find some friends who have the same goal as you, and thrive together with them.

There are so many tools here you can explore: making stories, correcting other users’ stories, learning pronunciation by reading and listening, built-in dictionary, practice on word forms, learn to read and write in other script, and of course the lessons which are designed for real-life communication.
