Hello, everyone. I'm Osman. I would like to know about your learning process. What are some tricks that have worked for you?

Hello Osman and welcome aboard! Which languages do you speak and which have you learned/are you learning?

I think practicing regularly and always trying to add new things on top of what you know (but not too much at once where you feel demotivated!) is the best way to learn. Also, it is possible that you want to focus on one skill (say reading, or speaking for example) so you should find activities that will help you get there. I feel that once you have more confidence in one of your skill, it boosts your motivation and confidence to learn the others!

Hello Vincent. Thanks for the tips. I can speak Bangla, English, Chinese, and a little bit of Hindi. Bangla is my first language and I have learned and I'm learning others. Even though I am fluent in these languages, there is a lot left to learn.

I think I only know 3 words in Bangla! Keno (why?), acha (yes?) and dhonnobhad (thank you)... also I think you use Khoda Hafez? I know it in Persian but I think it is also used in Bangla.

Maybe you can teach us some more hehe

Yes! "Khoda Hafez" comes from Persian. It is used in other languages too, like Hindi and Urdu.

I can definitely teach you some more words but I am curious how did you learn these 3 words in the first place?

Hi Osman, Nice to meet you! My target language is Japanese, and English for now, I do want to learn another language but haven't got the interest to do so. My trick that works when learning those two language was to watch movies in perspective languages (I love movies), and build up my interest in hopes that it would make me keep learning frequently. Interest, that is it!

Hello, Osman, and welcome! My mother tongue is Turkish too. I am also trying to increase my level in the English and French languages. I also read and write a lot of articles due to my profession. In this way, my language is developing considerably in written terms. However, since I don't practice speaking much, my speaking level does not improve that much. To change this situation through listening, voiceover, etc., I'm trying to join their practice. I try to learn a certain number of words every day by creating a word pool. Apart from that, I try to put the language I learned at the center of my life. I try to make foreign friends and practice speaking with them.

Hello Osman, welcome! In learning English, it was very useful for me to watch shows, series, movies... in English. And regular exercise, of course.

Hello Osman, I highly recommend to categorize new words into grammar categories, for example: nouns, verbs, adjectives, pronouns, adverbs, etc. It really helps me to not only memorize words, but actually understand what are they used for.

That is a great tip. I will make sure to try it.
