How are "Youtubers" viewed in your country? Is there anyone who is famous for Youtube? Do you think youtubing is a profession? There is a serious discussion about this, but what do you think?

What I notice (at least in my country), is that more and more children are "following" these so-called YouTubers. For me, it's not an occupation, I don't follow them, I wouldn't even know how to name a single YouTuber. I'm just not in that world.

Many children follow them in our country. Perhaps the worst part is that the tablets are always in the hands of children. So it is very difficult to even control who is watching. My child is still very young and it is quite easy to contain him now. But when he is 3-4 years old and sees tablets in all his peers, it will be very difficult to achieve this. YouTubers in Turkey are doing really well. They are watched a lot, they make a lot of money, and maybe that's why it's perceived as a real profession. So much so that many Turkish YouTubers actually do not have a job other than Youtube.

Unfortunately, you are right. More and more children "do not drop" tablets from their hands all day. Interestingly, many of them do not know how to communicate normally, perhaps because they spend a lot of time in that virtual world. They don't know how to say "Good Afternoon" when they meet you on the street, and I find that very ugly. I think that nowadays, with some exceptions, a lot of parents allow their children to spend the whole day with a tablet in their hands just to keep them calm. In this way, little by little, they lose control over their own children and then wonder why the children don't behave properly or why do they get bad grades in school.

This is one of my biggest fears too. My child is 9 months old now. She's already at home and he doesn't see much of anyone other than us. But when she grows up, maybe when she goes to school and sees that all of his friends have tablets and she spends a lot of time on the tablet, I think she will want it too. Not taking a tablet, or keeping it away from it, may also prevent her from socializing. So maybe it's not about not taking any tablets or not using them, but I think it's important to keep the balance. It seems more appropriate to me to give tablets at a certain time so that she can not be excluded in the circle of friends, improve herself and socialize, rather than just to keep her well-behaved. What do you think?

I agree, that's exactly what I'm doing. My daughter is almost 13 years old, she has her own phone but it is linked to my account so I can see at any time how much time she spends using certain apps on her phone. The fact is that you can't totally ban her from using the phone or tablet, but she has to be "balanced" non-stop. When she is at home, I try to distract her from it as much as possible. For example, I come up with some interesting games that we play together, I try to start a conversation and listen to her about everything she wants to tell me. That way, I "imperceptibly" take her away from the tablet and the Internet for a while. She doesn't even notice, and we have a good time. Since we both like to read, and she takes books from the children's section of the library, I ask her to take a book for me too, and then together we analyze and comment on what we have read. Of course, I'm not always interested in those books for children, but I try not to show it. It's that balance I mentioned.

I guess this is exactly the mother profile I want to be. So when I was pregnant, I was observing some of the parents I saw around me. And if it were me, I would think about how I would do it or how it should be done, how it should be treated. I'm sure I'll make a thousand mistakes. My aim is not to criticize or unfairly criticize parents, my aim is to learn. To see the lessons in front of me and maybe pay attention to them. I think that every family can find an activity to spend time together as long as it is not very abnormal. Of course, parents may not always enjoy it as much as the child. (As in your example) But these moments are so beautiful and unique that if the child is alone in childhood, I think that the parents cannot keep the same frequency with the child in the future. We are still at the very beginning of the road. So we can't even walk yet :)) So maybe it's easy to talk now, but I hope I can spend a lot of time with her, whether it's silly or incomplete or wrong. And in the future, one might say that my family has always taken care of me. Because otherwise, don't play with the phone, do not play with the tablet, but I will not spend time with you either, you just stand there like an idol. This is not realistic either. They have an incredible energy in them. It's obvious they can't spend it sitting down :))
