I am in the middle of a lesson and I found the word 'tvoje' in front of 'kupatilo'. So kupatilo is neuter? I assume that words end in 'a' are feminine, but how to differentiate neuter and masculine?

If i'm not incorrect usually neuter words end with either ''e'' or ''o''

like jezero(lake)

Yes, Sushi is correct. Usually neuter ends with "e" or "o". But there are still nouns which ends with these endings but are masculine, for example, auto, sto... And also for feminine, there are nouns which ends with consonant but actually a feminine, for example , ljubav.

But safest to remember is that Neuter USUALLY ends with "e" or "o"

Masculine USUALLY ends with consonant

and

Feminine USUALLY ends with "a"

The rest of the exemptions are hard to recognize what to remember so better to memorize those exemptions. They are not a lot.

Also, why is it "sviđa mi se tvoje kupatilo" and not just "sviđam tvoje kupatilo"?

basically its more like ''it is liked by me'' not exactly but something like that, so i like you would be ''sviđas mi se'' because youre liked by me

(im so sorry if im wrong im also learning but just thought i'd help because no on replied''

Hi Mega!

Sviđati se - to be liked or to be liked by

If you will say:

Sviđam ti se: it means "I am liked by you" or "You like me"

And if you will say.

Sviđaš mi se: then it means "I like you"

In your example,

"Sviđa mi se moje kupatilo"

it means that

"I like my bathroom"

But if you will say,

"Sviđam se mom kupatilu"

it means that

"I am liked by my bathroom" or "My bathroom likes me"

So, you use "sviđa mi se" if you want to say "I like..." something

It is shorter form of "meni se sviđa"

meni - to me

sviđa se - third person "like"

Another example also is "trebati" which is need

If you want to say, "I need", then you will construct it as "Treba mi"
