I chose a story to translate and read. What if that story is written wrong? Then I'll be doing everything wrong too?

No. When someone writes a story, he can make mistakes, that's normal. You will not translate and read those versions of the story. When you select a story to translate or read, you will receive a correction of the original story marked as perfect.
For example: If John wrote the story and made a lot of mistakes. Tom corrected all the mistakes in John's story. Tom's correction is marked as perfect. You are actually choosing the best correction of the original story. This will prevent you from translating and reading misspelled text.
