Mastering Spanish...

Hello! Today, we'll talk about spanish pronunciation. Here are some tipos to help you with your pronunciation:
Listen carefully
This may sound obvious, but from experience, listening carefully to audios, songs, movies, tv shows, podcasts, or anything is incredibly useful. You will not only learn new vocabulary from whatever you are listening, but at the same time you wil listen to an active spanish conversation, and how do they pronounce the words. If you do this often, the pronunciation is going to stick.
If you practice grammar and vocabulary, but don't listen to anything you won't know how to correctly-pronounce everything you are learning. So, try to mimic native speakers; replicate their intonation, pronunciation.
So, look for movies, tv shows and songs!
If you want to listen to songs in spanish, I recommed: Morat, Juanes, Jorge Drexler. They are some of my favorite artists and they have a very easy to understand pronunciation.
Learn how to roll your Rs
The pronunciation of "pero" and "perro" are completely different, or "caro" and "carro". The difference is that the words with "rr" have a stronger pronunciation, you have to roll your Rs to pronounce them correctly. So, everytime you see a word with double r, remember is a stronger sound.
This is a very distinctive characteristic of Spanish, and is a very very VERY important factor for a natural pronunciation. You can practice rolling your Rs with this tongue twister:
Erre con erre cigarro
Erre con erre barril
Erre con erre que rápido corren los carros cargados de azúcar del ferrocarril
Good luck!
Practice vowel and consonant clarity
Focus on clearly pronouncing all the vowels (a, e, i, o, u). This may also sound very obvious, but, if you speak english letters E and I may be a little confusing. So, work on pronouncing them correctly.
In spanish...
The letter A must be pronounced like in fAther.
The letter E must be pronounced like in pEt.
The letter I must be pronounced like in sEE.
The letter O must be pronounced like in gO.
The letter U must be pronounced like in bOOt.
Consonants are as important; for example, The use of the soft C. Casa (not soft), Necesario (soft). When a C is soft, you pronounce it like an S.
Learn stress
Always remember to add stress to the letters that have tildes, like mamÁ, papÁ. canciÓn, pronunciaciÓn, economÍa. Proper stress and intonation is going to make your speech more natural.
Record yourself!
I know. This may sound weird, but one way of identifying your mistakes or areas to improve is by listening to yourself! Then, you will know exactly which areas you have to improve.
Improving pronunciation takes time and practice, but is one of the most important parts in learning any language. If you follow these tips, you will enhance your ability to communicate effectively in Spanish. Try them! You have nothing to lose.
