Tips to remember words
Just learning words alone isn’t the best way to learn a language. You might remember them for a while, but it won’t last. You’ll keep some, but you can’t remember everything, unless you have a super memory, then that’s a different story. But if you have trouble remembering words, these tips will help you learn them faster and make sure they stay in your long-term memory.
- Put that word in a context
This technique mostly I'm using to remember the difficult words which I have hard time remembering. I learned this from Vocabulary labs, and based on my experience, is one of the most effective technique on remember the words long term.
How to do it?
There are different ways how you can do this.
a. Small chunks (2-3words)
Use the words you know, and combine it with the word you have hard time on remembering, for example, you can't remember the word, "schmutzig" for "dirty". And you know the word "Haus" as "House". Then you can combine this 2 words and add it in My Sentences.

b. Related sentences (longer sentence)
This tecnique is when you are already familiar with the language and that you already know more words. The more you speak a sentence that is related to you, the more you'll remember it. For example, your hobby is swimming, so for the word "schmutzig" you can either write a sentence like,
"I can't swim because the pool is dirty" - "Ich kann nicht schwimmen, weil das Schwimmbad schmutzig ist."
If you don't know how to translate it correctly, you can also ask chatGPT to help you, but warning, when you create a sentence, make sure, that 90% of the words used in the sentence are the words you already know.

c. Ask chatGPT
This is when you can't find any sentence to create that specific word, then you can ask chatGPT to help you give sentence. But this is the last option. Do first the A & B before trying this so that you will not have problem.
2.Mix this word with your native language
This is good for beginner. If you know just few words, you can mix the words you are learning while talking in your daily life. It doesn't matter if the person you're talking don't know the language you are learning, important here is that you will practice it and aiming to remember that specific word. You can also tell that person what is the meaning of that word so that he/she will be aware what are you talking about.
This is the example on how to do it:
If you're native language or the language you're talking everyday is English, then the word you want to remember is the word "schmutzig", then for example, you will clean the house, then you can voice it out, like:
"The house is so schmutzig, I must clean our schmutzig house!"
3.Record the word with the translation
This technique is good if there are a lot of words you want to remember, so you will record it in your phone together with its translation. Also, you can use the Listen Words in Langoid.
