Hello! I need help w ith Indonesian!

★ 8

I have a few questions about tenses in Indonesian.

For example, let's use the verb EAT in english.

Simple present: Eat

Present progressive: Eating

Simple future: Going to eat

Simple past: Ate

And so on. I´m not sure how to change the tenses of the verbs in Indonesian. Are there any rules about tenses that I should know about? How do I change a verb into present, past, future, etc?

Thank you!!

Also, what is the verb equal to the verb "to be" in Indonesian? I learnt that there is no such thing as "to be" in Indonesian, but I don´t understand how is that possible!! For example: she IS pretty. What would be the equal of "is"?
