Add to Dictionary

Not all words are available in the built-in dictionary, so you may want to add words that you can't find but consider important for your learning process. The Add to Dictionary feature, located in the sidebar Tools (open it with Tools → Add word or Tools → Add sentence in the menu), allows you to do just that. Here, you can add both words and sentences, ensuring your vocabulary includes everything you need to practice and learn effectively.

To add words, first, make sure you have selected the correct language options for Your Language (your native language) and Foreign Language (the language you are currently learning). Then, enter the translation in the "In my language" box and the word you want to learn in the "Foreign language" box.

Next, choose the part of speech from the dropdown list. You can also add a definition or an example sentence to provide more clarity. Additionally, you have the option to include notes for each word.

Once saved, the foreign language word will be added to your learning cycle and will appear in My Words tests and Vocabulary when you are studying that language.

If you want to improve your ability to construct sentences, you can choose Sentence under "What do you want to add?" in the Add to Dictionary tab, or open Tools → Add sentence in the menu. This allows you to control which grammar rule you want to highlight, whether you prefer a simple sentence or a more complex one.

Just like with Add Word, start by selecting the correct language options for Your Language (your native language) and Foreign Language (the language you are learning). Ensure they are in the correct position and not reversed.

Next, enter the translation in the "In my language" box and write the sentence in the "Foreign language" box. You also have the option to add notes if needed.

Once saved, this sentence will become part of your learning cycle and will appear in My Sentences tests and Vocabulary.

By using the Add to Dictionary feature, you can expand your vocabulary with words and sentences that are personally relevant, ensuring a more tailored and effective language learning experience.
