Exercises

Exercises in Langoid come in four types—Story, Translate Exercise, Read Exercise, and Listen Exercise—all found under Exercises in the menu and designed to help you practice key language skills like writing, sentence construction, reading, and listening. Each type offers a unique way to improve, with feedback from real people to guide your progress.

Story lets you write anything in your learning language. It doesn’t have to be a literal story—it could be about your day, yourself, your family, your learning journey, or even a vacation. The goal is to practice building sentences in your target language. Once you submit your writing, you’ll receive corrections and feedback from real users.

Translate Exercise is perfect if you want to practice sentence construction but don’t feel like writing your own text. Here, you translate someone else’s story into your learning language. You’ll choose from a list of available stories, and after submitting your translation, real people will provide corrections and feedback, just like in Story.

Read Exercise focuses on improving your reading and pronunciation skills. You’ll pick a text or story from a list, read it aloud, and record yourself. After submitting your recording, other users will listen and correct by recording also and add feedback to help you refine your pronunciation and reading fluency.

Listen Exercise sharpens your listening skills. You’ll hear an audio in your learning language, write down what you hear, and submit it. Other users will review your text and correct any mistakes, letting you know how well you heard and interpreted the audio.

These exercises are a great way to build essential language skills—writing, constructing sentences, reading, and listening—all of which are crucial for mastering a language. By practicing with real user feedback, you can steadily improve in each area. Under Exercises → Help others you can also correct exercises written by people learning your native language.
